INTERIOR DESIGN PROCESS

Step 1:
Meet & Greet

Ivory Design believes each project is about the client and their vision. We also believe creative connections yield the best results. Our first meeting is about finding that connection and determining if your project meets our creative focus.

Step 2:
Pre-Design

It's time to gather project drawings and information. If your project is a renovation and construction drawings are not available, a site measure will be produced to gain an accurate existing layout of your interior.

Step 3:
Space Planning

If interior modification's are required, space planning will begin. Space planning is the interior planning of room shapes, sizes and locations; the placement of appliances, fixtures and furnishings.

Step 4:
Concepts

Once the footprint of your interior is determined, design concepts will begin. The design concepts stage is the creative, visual portion of the design process – known as the fun part! The mood and aesthetics of each room are developed. Preliminary wall elevations and finishes are selected, digital mood boards and or renderings created. An overall picture of the end product is revealed.

Step 5:
Design Development

Creativity becomes technical during design development. Once the overall concept of each room is approved a construction drawing package is created. Preliminary elevations are developed further in addition to flooring layouts, reflected ceiling plans, and detailed millwork drawings .. to name a few. This construction package provides enough information for contractor pricing.

Step 6:
Tender Process

The tender process is the pricing of your project. The construction drawing package is now issued to your chosen contractor or multiple contractors for pricing. Ivory Design will assist in this process providing bidding contractors with the necessary information to price your project accurately.

Step 7:
Project Refinement

Revisions may be required following the tender process. Change throughout a project isn’t ideal .. but is ok!

Step 8:
Construction Phase

Ivory Design will work with your chosen contractor to ensure project details are communicated clearly and accurately. A series of site visits would be provided and ongoing correspondence. This service helps eliminate errors and alleviate client pressure.

Step 9:
Décor & Furnishings

When construction is underway (if not sooner) Ivory Design will begin selecting furniture, art and décor to coordinate with your chosen interior aesthetic. Existing client furniture will be evaluated and incorporated if possible. New furniture will be selected, ordered and shipped to the client's specified location. This service is essential to an extra special outcome.

Step 10:
Photos & Staging

Full-service projects deserve to be photographed and included in the Ivory Design Portfolio. A photo is a celebration of work completed as a team - a product of a job well done! We look forward to photographing your future interior!
